Contributing to the solution for Indonesia's energy challenges

Jakarta, 20 May 2015 – ExxonMobil will participate in the 39th Indonesian Petroleum Association (IPA) Annual Convention and Exhibition on 20-22 May 2015 in Jakarta. With the theme "Working Together to Accelerate Solutions in Anticipating Indonesia’s Energy Crisis,” IPA aims to highlight how all stakeholders should work together in providing solutions to the nation’s energy challenges. Aligned with this year’s theme, ExxonMobil is showcasing how the company is playing its role in working together with stakeholders to address the nation’s energy challenges.

With over 115 years of presence in Indonesia, ExxonMobil remains committed and is invested for the long term. Together with the Government of Indonesia and its strategic partners, ExxonMobil is working to help meet Indonesia’s energy needs. The discovery and production of Arun field since 1968 until today, and the current development of Banyu Urip field are examples of ExxonMobil’s commitment to reliably provide energy for the nation.

“At ExxonMobil, we believe that producing energy for a nation takes effort that is beyond finding and producing new sources of energy. It takes partnership,” said Jon M. Gibbs, President and General Manager of ExxonMobil Affiliates in Indonesia. In IPA Convex this year, Mr. Gibbs will be one of the speakers in the Plenary Session about “Fuelling Indonesia’s Growth Together.” ExxonMobil employees will also share their expertise in advanced technology and project efficiency during the convex’s oral presentation of technical program.

ExxonMobil’s exhibition booth will showcase interactive displays and latest updates of its Indonesian operations namely the Banyu Urip Project, which will contribute to more than 25 per cent to Indonesia’s national production upon its completion in 2015.

In addition, ExxonMobil will participate in the exhibition’s Empowerment Center. The company will feature handicrafts from beneficiaries of ExxonMobil’s programs, including the Creative Industry of Batik Bojonegoro Development Program and the Skill and Market Improvement for Small and Medium Women Entrepreneur Program which develops businesswomen in North Aceh. Visitors will able to see how the economic development programs have helped the beneficiaries to grow their businesses.
